Luisa Cáceres Díaz was born in Caracas the September 12, 1799. His parents were José Domingo Cáceres, historian and teacher, and Carmen Diaz, who from the beginning bothered to provide education and values \u200b\u200bwhich then become an example of patriotism.

On Christmas Eve of 1813, Luisa Cáceres met Juan Bautista Arismendi, Republican military widow, who was impressed with the personality of the young. However, separate to the pressing need of the military in Margarita Island , but not for long.

In 1814, Cáceres family participates in the "Migration to the East" to threats of Boves realistic and takes refuge on the island with the help of Arismendi. In December that year, Luisa and Juan Bautista married. A few weeks later, Arismendi was appointed Provincial Governor of Margarita, but their happiness would not last long, as the English general Pablo Morillo invades the island its naval fleet and the new governor should be entrenched, with his wife, the northern English province where the head Cobián commanded.

Given the couple's decision not to surrender, Sept. 24, Luisa Cáceres is arrested as a measure of pressure for the surrender of his wife. Finally, thanks to the intervention of an English friend and Carabaño Francisco, manages to leave Spain and travel to Philadelphia, USA where he arrived in May 1818. In parallel, the liberation struggle of his life partner in the island region had triumphed and finally met him in July 1818.Durante their union, had ten children and continued to participate actively in all events of the independence struggle.

In 1835, Juan Bautista Arismendi was appointed Acting Governor of Caracas. The family moved to the city where he would exercise his office until his death in 1841. She continued to live together with their offspring in Caracas, where he died on June 2, 1866. His work and life's work was of such importance, he became the first woman buried in the National Pantheon alongside other greats in the history of Venezuela.
